Interview time.

I'm driving out to Columbus tomorrow night after work. That is, after i take two more exams for this position. Talk about a marathon. Jeff was kind enough to help me think through some of the questions that they'll hopefully be asking me. Chances are I'm going to be calling people tomorrow (i.e. Dad and Bill) for their thoughts on some of the more specific questions. I think Bill is ready to shoot me if I ask him another insurance question.

I'm interviewing on Thursday and Friday. They're putting me up in the Sheraton overnight. That should be nice. I think I'm going to meet up with some college friend on Thursday night after dinner. If anything, maybe I can impress girls with the "I was in Columbus on a business trip" thing. I might have just tipped my hand though (crap!).

The only good thing I can see from all this is that come Friday afternoon, the situation will be pretty much out of my control. What happens happens. It's hard to find much comfort in that when you really want one outcome though.

After that I have an exam on Thursday for ARM-56 Risk Financing. If I can nail that, I'll have two designations which wouldn't hurt my case. If the Ohio thing doesn't work out, I'll try for the Northeast region. If that worked out, I wouldn't have to move. Since things are settling a little more out here, that might not be such a bad thing.

If that doesn't work out, there's only North Carolina left. If that doesn't work, I'll just have to redouble my efforts with the current job and make the most of it. There's definitely some potential in my current position left to tap. Also, i think I've made it clear to management that if they aren't proactive in pushing me forward towards a promotion, I won't stick around. I think that's what they call leverage. We'll see.
