I went whitewater rafting this weekend which was mucho fun. The rafting itself was kind of weak because water levels were low, but it was still nice to get out there and tear it up.
The funnest part was the group of people I went with. We made t-shirt jerseys before we went the first day. All together Team Ramrod consisted of:
Amanda aka The Manda - you can guess this one
Adam aka Brute' (imagine an accent over the e) - he was quiet and stealthy during paintball before, kind of like an assasin
Jacob aka Schindler's Fist - he looks like a nazi
Crystal aka Iron Tough Big Bear - if you saw her, you'd think it's funny
Matt aka Hazmat - he's a hazard to himself
Seth aka Crystal Smeth - i don't know.
Kendall aka Goober- i don't know
Jon aka J5 - Johnny 5 from short circuit was a robot. I guess he knew tons of random crap, like yours truly.
Bob aka Mouth - if you met him, you'd know
Two honorary member were inducted this weekend. Both were especially cool guides. Their nicknames:
Nate aka Tug Boat
Ben aka Yoda
Nate got into Team Ramrod by telling us how to piss off the other guides. All 9 members of Team Ramrod were on these things called duckies. They're basically inflatable one-man Kayaks. On the second rapids they make everyone go one at a time. Nate mentioned that we would freak the crap out of the other guides if we all went down at the exact same time. It was a good idea.
We had already decided to induct Nate into the group. We needed a nickname before we informed him of his new status. There were a bunch of people who were rafting with us on the second day who had no conception of how to paddle whatsoever. They would stick their paddles about 3/8ths of an inch into the water, kind of giggle and look at the paddle, and pick it up back out of the water. Needless to say, they hit every freaking rock on the way down. So nate's solution to the problem was to come in full speed and knock people of rocks with his kayak. Therefore, we named him Tug Boat.
Ben was really cool. He showed us all the hidden places we could go. He sent the rafts down the easy was and took us down the "hot route." He was our guide and mentor for the day, therefore we named him Yoda.
It was a good weekend. Pictures are on their way.
