Shut up

I know my life is way better than all yours but your constant pleas are getting annoying. I don't feel like blogging for two hours hitting up all I did in the past week So let's just take it one or two days at a time.

So I'm driving home from NJ and I'm stuck in turn your car off and wait 10 minutes to move type traffic. Suddenly the horse trailer next to me starts lurching every which direction as the horse inside freaked out. It kept kicking the door. I was waiting for the horse to jump out and destroy my car. If that had happen, needless to say I would have killed the horse with my bare hands then and there. I can do that.

Fast forward to post digital camera times and we got us some stories worthy of pictures. Unfortunately I didn't bring the camera for those times and what you see is what I have. First picture i take...

Trust me, the pictures get better lookin' from here. So we go to Sandusky, hop the ferry and go to South Bass Island aka Put-in-Bay. A storm was a comin' so i freaked out like a girl. No offense ladies.

We hurry to set up camp as the rain poured. I was thinking it was going to be one crappy weekend because we had a possibility of rain every day. Fortunately that was all the rain we got. The next day we went kayaking to an island owned by OSU named the galapagos. It had an interesting cliff shoreline with rocks you could navigate between and a few little water caves. We paddled out a ways into the lake for the heck of it. It was great being out in the middle of something so huge. The waves were big enough that I couldn't always see John C behind me.

Oh, earlier that day John and I were driving around the island. We stopped at the east point where I put down my camera and left without it. I realized it pretty fast but I figured someone might have snipped it. That's why I shouldn't have nice things.

Later on that day I got bored and decided to set out on my own around the island. No one was there to take pictures so extreme close ups are all you get.
I climbed the wall behind me later on. That was a little awkard because I'm afraid of heights and it was getting late. I came up right in the middle of a camp site where everyone was sitting around the fire. I'm sure they could hear my grunting and stuff as I was coming up. They still seemed a little suprised. Whatever. I'm sure they figured out what was going on quick enough

Later on we caught the sunset at my behest. I really wanted to see it. Brings back memories of Kelly's Island. If you think hard, we did do more than go to church 4-5 hours a day. We got our toe nails painted to go in the deep end. I learned how to really swim there. We hit up the quarry. Mom hit up the ground. Yuck. Remember that picture of her arm? I really remember the sunrises and sunsets. And the mornings were always freezing. Feeding the Seagulls was a blast too.

We hit up the bars at night. We got free drinks from pharmacutical reps for Pittsburgh. That was sweet. We hit up the World's longest bar and the world's largest geode (but not really, as i later found out). We hit up a winery where I drank the first glass of wine I've ever really enjoyed. Put-in-Bay is a microclimate with a much longer and stable growing season because of warmth from the Lake Erie waters.
On Friday night I was kind of bored so I tried wading around part of the island. That was freaky because it was 2am and my flashlight wasn't very bright (dying) and those water snakes scare the crap out of me because they go crazy when you walk up on them.

So there you go. The abridged version of my South Bass Island vacation. I'll get all the pictures up on

Awesome post Jon! Now we want to see all the cutie-pie pics you took of our kids (ie. Wyatt running around with sparklers wearing only his underwear, etc.)
