Taking care of business

And working plenty of overtime.

Fortunately I get paid for it. I worked 12 1/2 today. That combined with a 35-45 minute commute each way makes for a pretty long day. And I get to do it at least two more times this week.

The great thing about overtime is that extra hour I work is money I can either save or spend. My costs are fixed and I'm not going to add to them much. Except maybe a magazine subscription, which I think I can float. And the extra above and beyond income is where you get all the enjoyable consumption. It ain't bad being an hourly employee sometimes.

My hope is that I can squeeze in 3 ARM (Risk Management) exams in before the end of June. That would give me $1,750 in educational incentives, which actually isn't that fabulous of a deal once you factor in lost pay from overtime. It's good for the future. After that I'll get started on CPCU exams. I'm hoping to take the CPCU courses along with the CICs, which is what Bill is taking. I figure it won't be that bad if I can match topics (take the CPCU- property and then take the CIC-property and so on). It's just hard to take exams so aggressively, do your job and have a personal life. The sooner I get it all done with though, the better.
