Biking

As many of you know, I bought a bike last friday. Here she is:

In the past eight days I've laid down 147 miles. I'm still not used to the seat. I'm hoping the nerve endings in my dariere eventually just give in. My first day out I did 37 miles (last saturday). I didn't get to ride on Sunday or Monday. I went out with a group in Hilliard. I couldn't keep up with the really hardcore bikers so I stayed back with the older crowd. We all went out for dinner and drinks afterwards. Sam Adams summer ale is soooo good. I rode with a retired cop named Del most of the time. I met some irish guy who lived is South Africa most his life. We talked mostly about rugby and south africa. Yey.

I went out again on Wednesday by myself. Dublin's supposed 62 miles of bike paths really suck. You have to stop every three blocks at a 6 lane intersection and wait for 3 minutes. You can't get into a groove. Eventually I decided to stop biking on the bike path and just take the road. I got used to riding with lots of traffic that day. Ever try a traffic circle on a bike during rush hour? The secret is to get behind a vehicle and ride their tale.

Yesterday I rode 31 miles by myself again. Got lost a lot. I put my key in my bike pack thing, but it came out during my ride. I was locked out of my apartment so I biked to a friend's house who was having a "fiesta" in full spandex attire. Someone from the partay helped me climb up to my balcony. Thankfully I hadn't locked my door so I got in. I went again today along a really nice bike path running along 315.

I then went home and slept for almost six hours, and I'm still tired.
