I bought a car. I don't have a camera so I can't put up pictures like Ang and Allison, so this will have to do:

Speaking of images, blogger has image hosting now? I love Google. It used to be such a pain to get free image hosting. The best place I could find had tons of limitations. If too many people visited my blog the images would stop loading.
I think I got a pretty good deal too. Time wasn't on my side. I hit a deer with the Bonneville so I didn't have as much time to look for a car as I would have liked. The walkout price was $14,032. I got it for $7k under invoice (19,500 to 12,500) since it had been on the lot for quite a while.
OK, I'm all for business and such. I understand the whole haggling process and I don't mind it. It’s just a form of price discrimination designed to separate those who are more price sensitive from those who aren’t. What I don’t like is that the salesmen lie to you every step of the way.
Mr. Roth, we can’t sell below MSRP…
hahah, yeah.
Mr. Roth, we’ll be losing money if we sell it below invoice. It’s like us offering you $1 for $2 you have in your pocket.
What about the dealer holdbacks?
Uhh…
I'm just glad it's over with.
My favorite moment was when I got a call from Jeff from Grecco-Mazda about a Mazda3. After telling him how I wanted to take some time to think more about what car I wanted he says "You know they say hesitation leads to disappointment." Yeah, for you. I'm trying to buy a car, I don't need proverbs. I googled it later. You know who says hesitation leads to disappointment? Salesmen.
I know this process isn't a shock to anyone, but it's a new experience for me.
